The family will receive friends from 3-5pm at Rogers Pickard Funeral Home on Sunday February 16, 2025.
Ann was born January 21st, 1942, the daughter of the late Ouida Deal and WB Allgood. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Bill Allgood, Frances Almond, Lou Yow, and her beloved husband of sixty-two years, Wayne. She is survived by her daughters, Judy Jackson Spivey and Waynette Jackson Bibey; granddaughters, Caitlin Meinhardt (Adam), Mallory R. K. Blue (Deon), Johnna Spivey (Gabby), and Anna Spivey Herrin (Kyle); sisters, Sarah Kay Logue, Joan Wicker (Gary), and Edna Foushee; her beloved cats, Whitie, Boots, Piglet, and Smokey, as well as many close friends and extended family.
Ann graduated from Cameron High School in May of 1960 and shortly after, married the love of her life on June 11, 1960. She and Wayne raised two daughters and were blessed with four granddaughters. Ann was a true matriarch and led her family with strength and poise. She was a hard worker and thrived in many positions including secretary & bookkeeper at Long Meadow Dairy, manager of Yarborough’s Ice Cream, office work at
Neste Resins Corp, and substitute teacher in Lee County Schools, frequenting her favorite school, J.R. Ingram Elementary School. She was a long time member of White Hill Presbyterian Church where she held many titles including chairperson of the Shirley Watson Circle, Deacon, Treasurer, Bible School Director, Harvest Sale Committee Member - remembered as the ticket lady and a generous contributor to the country store. Ann was also a recipient of the Presbyterian Women’s Life Membership.
Ann was known for her canned goods, sewing & quilting abilities, colorful garden of flowers, and deep love for her family and friends. She enjoyed a beach sunset, falling snow, old TV, solitaire, Elvis Presley, and ice cream. Ann took all of her roles in life seriously, she was a strict manager who demanded a good work ethic, a knowledgeable coworker who could solve any problem in the office, and a faithful friend who would help others in an instant, but she was assuredly the most proud of her roles as “Mom” and “Grandma.” It is impossible to fit the true impact she had on the people around her into a few paragraphs, but to put it simply, she was Superwoman, and she will be missed dearly by every person that knew her.
Ann had a very specific wish that she not receive flowers at her funeral, she preferred her flowers to be given while she could truly enjoy them during her earthly life, please consider taking a loving friend or family member a beautiful bouquet in Ann’s honor.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the countless wonderful souls at the First Health Cancer Center, as well as the angel nurses and social workers at First Health Hospice and Palliative care, specifically, Lawanda and Lisa.
