Anne Gertrude Shearer

Anne Gertrude Shearer, 86 of Sanford passed away Friday September 20, 2019.

Memorial Mass will be held Friday September 27, 2019 at 11AM at St. Stephens Catholic Church with a reception following Mass.

Ms. Shearer was born in Detroit, MI, daughter of the late William Shearer and Gertrude Pendleton Shearer. In addition to her parents Anne was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Paul Shearer. Ms. Shearer became a Nun at the age of 18 for a period of twelve years then she left the convent for health concerns.

Anne graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Art. She was an inspiring teacher to many students for many years. In retirement she was a loving caregiver for her mother.  In addition to her passion to art, she was an avid photographer.

Ms. Shearer is survived by her two brothers, Peter Shearer of Laingsburg, MI and Tim Shearer of Pinehurst; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
