Bernard Wicker

Bernard Reams Wicker, 97 of Sanford passed away Friday March 26, 2021. A private graveside service will be held at Pocket Presbyterian Church. Mr. Wicker was born in Lee County, a son of the late Kinnie Melton Wicker and Margaret Wicker. He was preceded in death by his wife Marie, brothers Jim, Bill, Ken, Ray and sisters Louise and Margaret. Bernard was a graduate of Sanford High School and a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement in 1982. Upon retiring, his hobbies included gardening and woodworking. He was a member of Pocket Presbyterian Church where he and his wife served in numerous capacities. Mr. Wicker is survived by two sons, Tilla Minter and wife Karen of Sanford and Milton Wicker of Sanford; grandson Jordan Minter; several nieces and nephews.
