Bobby James Riggan

Bobby James Riggan, 73 of N. Topsail Beach, formerly of Sanford passed away Monday July 4, 2016. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Riggan was born in New Hanover Co, son of the late Robert Alexander Riggan and Beulah Mae Robertson Riggan. Bob graduated from Adcock High School in Henderson and Hardbarger Business College in Raleigh. He was an excellent pitcher and played Farm League Baseball. Mr. Riggan was instrumental in getting the Old Steam Locomotive at Depot Park a former Member of the Jaycees, Kiwanis Club, and a former manager and member of the Sanford Elks Lodge #1679.

Mr. Riggan is survived by his son, Michael C. Riggan and wife Karen of Sanford; sister, Jean R. Mitchell and husband Thom of Gainesville, FL and nephew David Thom Mitchell; two grandchildren, Robert Alexander Riggan II and Jared Michael Riggan; three great grandchildren, Benjamin Elijah Riggan, Jackson Cole Riggan , and Irene Rosa Riggan.
