Brenda Bell

Brenda Bell transitioned into the next phase of life peacefully March 5th, 2025 at Sanford Health and Rehabilitation in Sanford NC.

Brenda Gene Chadwick was born January 10th 1958 in Pawtuckett Rhode Island to Irvin (Bob) Chadwick and Betteanne Lapans. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and daughter. She married the love of her life Steve Bell in March of 1999. Together they had a life filled with adventure, travel and goats. They had a small goat farm in KIngs Mountain and Brenda could tell you the goats names by the sound of their bleats. Brenda was also a volunteer at Oak Grove Baptist church in Kings Mountain, as well as a volunteer at Washington Elementary School and Burns High School. She lived her life in service of others. She loved animals and was always nursing injured or orphaned animals in her home.

Brenda is preceded in death by her husband, Steve Bell, mother Betteanne Reynolds, father Irvin (Bob) Chadwick, sister Tammy Canipe, sister Karen Chadwick and infant daughter Amanda Nicole Spake.

She is survived by her son Bradley Spake and his husband Gavin of Sanford NC, grandson Camden Spake of Kings Mountain NC, grandson Grayson Spake of Sanford NC, sister Donna Gurley and her husband Bob of Morganton NC, brother Bruce Chadwick and his wife Anne of Greeneville NC, brother David Chadwick of Shelby NC, (Step) mother Etta Chadwick of Shelby NC, (Step) father Charlie Reynolds of Kings Mountain NC as well as many nieces, nephews, and special friends.

The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the staff and administration at Sanford Health and Rehabilitation for providing excellent care in her final days. The support and the care from the staff was overwhelming and helped to ease the transition.

A celebration of life will be held at Westview Baptist Church in Shelby NC Saturday March 15th at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association.
