Carol "Sue" Daughtry

Carol “Sue” Daughtry, 81, of Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday February 25, 2025. A memorial service will be held at Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home on Sunday March 23, 2025 at 2:00pm. The family will receive friends prior to the service starting at 1:30pm.

Sue was born in Cumberland Co., a daughter of the late Clayton Lester Long and Margaret Christine Long. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Dwight Daughtry; son Robert Craig Luttrell; brother James Clayton Long Sr.; sister Dorothy Joy Long; sister-in-law Helen Long Holder; and beloved dog Sh’Boom.

Sue was energetic with a great sense of humor. She loved being with her family and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her favorite vacation was the beach where she enjoyed working on her tan. Sue also enjoyed shopping, dancing, music, decorating her home and spending time outside. She was a fantastic cook and was well known for her red velvet cake.

She is survived by her daughter Cindy Luttrell; grandchildren Aaron Scott (Blakely), Alexis Nance, Ashlie Martin (Zack); great grandchildren Peyton Martin, Maedee Scott, and Zander Martin; niece Marie Long; nephew Jim Long (Kathy); many friends and family; and her cat Pearly.
