Carole Jean Brown

Carole Jean (Yow) Brown, 82, of Sanford, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2019 at Sanford Health and Rehabilitation Center.Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Sunday at Rogers Pickard Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Cameron Grove Cemetery.
 
Carole had a warm, outgoing personality.  She enjoyed serving others which was represented in her work life at Central Carolina Hospital, Employment Security, as a receptionist with numerous physician practices, and Retired Seniors Volunteer Program.  She loved the Lord serving the congregation and the community by her husband’s side.  Gardening was one of her passions and she took pride in sharing the beauty of the flowers she grew with others.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert H. (Bob) Brown.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother, Mossie Mashburn Yow; her father, Hampton “Hamp” Yow; three sisters, Edith Routh, Hortense Womack, and Mabel Bremer; three brothers, Paige, Paul and Robert “Bobby” Yow and a grandson Justin Wright.
  
Carole is survived by her three children, Karen (Marty) Oldham, Reginald “Reggie” Brown, and Lisa (Rocky) Godwin.  Four grandsons:  John (Lucia) Wright, Ryan (Holly) Hedgepath, Christian Godwin, and Zachary Godwin; a granddaughter: Terri Wright, and a step-grandson, John Oldham.  Four great-grandchildren Natalee Wright, Camden Wright, Mackenzie Hedgepath and Landon Oldham.  She loved all her nieces and nephews and grew up with a niece, Nancy Agnor, who she loved like a sister.

The family will receive friends starting at 2:00pm Sunday before the service, and other times at 1003 Bryant Drive, Sanford.
