Charlotte Campbell Thomas Burns

Charlotte Campbell Thomas Burns, 84 of Sanford passed away Saturday July 10, 2021. The family will hold a private graveside service.

Born in Lee Co, she was a daughter of the late Jerome Corbitt Thomas and Elza Campbell Thomas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Jackson “Bobby” Burns; siblings, W.C. “Bill” Thomas, Jesse C. “Bud” Thomas, H. Grady Thomas, and Fred Allen Thomas.

Charlotte studied at Women’s college now UNC Greensboro, then worked with ‘Burns and Chappell Oil Company, and also a substitute teacher for the Lee County School System for many years. She was an active member of Sanford Junior Women’s Club, and was a longtime avid antiques collector.

Mrs. Burns is survived by Alisha B. Sagraves (Russell) of Apex; sisters in law, Treva B. Chappell of Sanford, Evelyn King of Cary and Marylin Williams of Sanford.
