David Floyd Key

David Floyd Key, 50, of Sanford passed away Tuesday (1/30/24) at home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held Friday (2/2/24) at 2:00pm at Rogers Pickard Funeral Home.

 

Mr. Key was born in Lee County to the late Jimmy Key and Frankie Coe Key. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He especially enjoyed spending time with his precious granddaughter Ava. He was an outstanding baseball player, dedicated coach, and could repair just about anything. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal Floyd and Jessie Key; and maternal grandparents LaDae and Thelma Coe.

 

He is survived by his wife Kimberly Cummings Key; children Mackenzie Peterson (Troy), Logan Key, and Cameron Key; granddaughter Ava Peterson; sister Wendy Key (Jamie); and mother-in-law Linda Cummings.

 

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Thursday (2/1/24) at Rogers Pickard Funeral Home.
