David Alton Simmons

David Alton Simmons, 66 of Sanford passed away Monday May 21, 2018 at his home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am Friday at Red Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Simmons was born in Moore Co, son of the late Claude Alton Simmons and Jean Lemons Simmons. David was a Lineman with the former Carolina Power and Light and retired after 25 years then, started the DA Simmons Electrical Co. He loved helping others, and enjoyed NASCAR, hunting and college sports especially North Carolina State.

Mr. Simmons is survived by his wife, Nancy B. Simmons; son Jason Simmons of Morehead City; daughter, Sirena Buchholtz of Sanford; three grandchildren, Jason Simmons Jr, Shane Simmons and Chris Buchholtz; uncle, Joe Simmons (Dee) of Carthage; aunts, Janie Williams (Cecil) of Carthage, and Irene Wright (Bob) of Greensboro; sister in law, Beverly Merkle of Carthage.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00pm Thursday at Rogers Pickard Funeral Home.
