Dorothy Black Richardson

Dorothy Black Richardson, 83, of Sanford passed away on Thursday January 14, 2021. Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm Sunday January 17, 2021 at Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Dot worked for over 20 years with the Lee County School System. She was a very devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Her happiest times were her visits with all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She was survived by her son Allen Gordon (Pam) of Sanford; daughters Debbie Williams (Nolan) of Sanford and Cindy Whitfield (Jerry) of Goldston; grandchildren Heather Forshey (Nate), Erin Houchins, Audrey Williams, and Will Gordon (Kate); and great grandchildren Hannah Stackpole, Brayden Houchins, Brantley Houchins, Maci Houchins, Boone Houchins, Savannah Forshey, Jackson Forshey, Caitlin Forshey, Aiden Forshey, and Grant Gordon.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence Alexander Black and Lillian Cole Black; husband Carl Richardson; and son Carl Lynn Richarson.
