Edna Cameron Rogers, 92 of Sanford passed away Saturday September 18, 2021. Graveside services will be held Saturday October 2, 2021, at 11am at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Mamers.
Mrs. Rogers was born to the late Neil Alex Cameron, Sr and Flarie Wood Cameron on February 9, 1929 in Harnett County, NC. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Cameron and N.A. Cameron Jr. Edna graduated from Boone Trail High School in Mamers, North Carolina and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Sanford where she was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class.
Edna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved the beach and her family, always going to great lengths to make everyone feel comfortable in her home. Quiet but a tremendous listener, Edna was a role model to all her grandchildren - teaching them to love unconditionally through the way she cared for her adoring husband, Gene. Treating everyone around her with respect and kindness, she was a blessing to all who knew her and the sweet grin that lit up her face every day will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Rogers is survived by her husband of 72 years, Joseph Eugene Rogers; daughters, Lisa R. Fuquay (Don) of Sanford, and Myra R. Thomas (Randy) of Morehead City; grandchildren, Macy Fuquay of Los Angeles, CA, Courtney Fuquay of Scottsdale, AZ, Abby Fuquay of Raleigh, Harrison Fuquay of Tempe, AZ, Carr Thomas of Morehead City and Joseph Thomas (Carson) of Winston Salem; siblings, Ruby Griffin of Mamers, Thelma Cameron of Belhaven, David Cameron of Roseboro, and Gaynelle Rosser of Sanford; and a sister-in-law, Derenda Kelly of Lillington. Many nieces and nephews.
At the request of the family, please wear a mask if attending the service.
