Ethel Yow Badgett

Ethel Yow Badgett, 87, of Sanford, NC, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 14, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 3pm Sunday May 21, 2023 at Grace Chapel Church. Burial will follow at Rocky Fork Christian Church Cemetery.

Born March 7, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Scott and Alma Blakely Yow. Ethel will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She devoted her life to serving Jesus and loving her family.

Ethel was preceded in death by her brother, Jake Paul Yow. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Jack Matthews Badgett, her children, Karen Bowman (Terry) and Joan Robbins (John), six grandchildren, Neal Bowman (Laura), Mark Bowman (Brittany), Lori Wheeler (Brian), Peter Robbins, David Robbins, Patrick Robbins, six great grandchildren, and her sister Grace Yow Stevens.

Ethel taught first grade Sunday School and sang in the church choir for many years. She enjoyed gardening and she loved cooking for others and being the hands and feet of Jesus. She retired from Central Carolina Community College and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She was fond of her grandchildren as they were the light of her life. She enjoyed playing games, cooking, and sharing her love for gardening with them. She loved her family, and they loved her deeply.

The family will receive friends starting at 2pm Sunday May 21, 2023 in the Grace Chapel Welcome Center.
