Frederick Albert Ziegler

Frederick A. Ziegler, 92, passed away peacefully at home on March 17, 2022, surrounded by family.

Fred was born in New Haven, CT on 10/23/1929. He attended the United States Merchant Marine Academy and remained a member of the reserves for years.  In 1953 he married Helen Drab. Helen preceded him in death on September 3, 2014.

Fred moved to Illinois in the 60's working as an engineer in the Rubber and Plastics Industry until he retired in 1981.  In 2020 he moved with his son and daughter-in-law to North Carolina.

Fred was active in sports and maintained a 52-year membership at Olympia Fields Country Club in Illinois. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Homewood, IL for over 50 years

Fred is survived by his sons Carl (Carol Lea) and Mark (Kathie). Grandchildren Christopher (Meredith), Kieran (Hope), Craig (Betsy) and Richard (Sarah) and two great-grandchildren Ryder and Liam.

A private family service will be held at a later date in the Chicago Area.
