H. Stone Kennett

Henry Stone Kennett, 89 of Raleigh passed away June 13, 2023.

He was born April 2, 1934, in Durham, to the late H.C. Kennett and Grace Stone Kennett. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Shirley Garrett Kennett, and a brother, H. Connor Kennett Jr.

Mr. Kennett is survived by his son, Daniel James Kennett; brother, Phil Kennett (Gloria); and sister, Kay Stout (David); many nieces and nephews.

He was a Veteran of the US Air Force and retired from the N.C. Dept of Agriculture and also the U.S. Dept of Agriculture. He was an active member of the St James United Methodist Church and served in many leadership roles there. Stone was a people person who enjoyed the fellowship of many friends. He was also an avid N.C. State wolfpack fan and attended many athletic events.

Funeral services will be held at 1 o’clock Thursday (6/22/2023) at St James United Methodist Church in Raleigh. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Carson Hall of the Church.
