Hazel Wicker

Mrs. Hazel M. Wicker of the Shallow Well community passed away peacefully Monday May 31, 2021, at her home. Mrs. Wicker was born in Snow Camp, NC on September 24, 1922, to the late Fred B. and Mae Stuart Mansfield. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon A. Wicker; son Ronald G. Wicker; siblings, Virginia Mansfield, Inez Jackson, and Ervin Mansfield. She was a lifelong member of Shallow Well Church. She owned and operated S.A. Wicker and Sons with her husband and family for over 50 years. She is survived by her son Gary S. Wicker (Joan) of Sanford; daughter, Sandra W. Batchelor (Jimmy) of N. Topsail Beach; daughter in law, Kathie F. Wicker of Southport, NC; grandchildren, P. Scott Wicker (Shannon) of Garner, W. Brad Wicker and J. Kyle Wicker of Sanford, Blair W. Jernigan (Garrett) of Raleigh, Lindsay M. Wicker of N. Topsail Beach, and Amber B. Yerger (Brian) of Morrisville, NC; great grandchildren, Ryker and Camille Wicker, Maddie and Wicker Jernigan, and Steeleton Yerger; a sister Mary Sue Thomas and sister in law, Rebecca T. Mansfield of Sanford. The family would like to extend thanks to the caregivers for their continued care and support. The family will greet friends from 10:00 am until 10:50 am Thursday at Shallow Well Church with Funeral services following at 11:00 am. A private committal will follow in the Church cemetery.
