Henry Elmer Woody

Henry Elmer Woody, 84 of Sanford passed away Tuesday November 22, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Carthage. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Mr. Woody was born in Chatham Co son of the late James Walter Woody and Margaret Atkins Woody. He was preceded in death by siblings, Catherine Woody, Estelle fields, Ervin Woody, Billy Woody, Jimmy Woody and Donald Woody. Mr. Woody was a Veteran of the US Army and a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. He loved spending time outside riding his Gator and tending to his chickens and guineas.

Mr. Woody is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Elizabeth “Lib” Woody; his children, Angie Brewer (Eric) of Sanford, Karen Garner (Mike) of Whispering Pines, Jeff Woody (Pam) of Sanford, and Cheryl Fields (Mike) of Goldston; grandchildren, Heather Taylor (Keith), Cody Garner, Terrie fields, Mickey Fields, Caitlyn Reece (Sully), Addison Woody, Hannah Garner, MacKenzie Woody, and Kendall Brewer. Great-grandchildren, Lexie, Dawson, and Harvey Taylor; brothers, JB Woody, Larry Woody, and Wayne Woody.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Carthage.
