Jack Matthews Badgett

Jack Matthews Badgett, 89, of Sanford, NC, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 8, 2024. Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 17, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Grace Chapel Church. Burial to follow in Rocky Fork church cemetery.

Born September 21, 1934, he was the son of the late Charlie Elbert and Fay Matthews Badgett. Jack will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Jack loved to tell a good story or share a joke. He was an amazing caregiver for his wife Ethel. Jack enjoyed serving in the name of Jesus in many capacities at church. He retired from Coty, traveled, and spent time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for playing games and fishing with them. He was quite the handyman and enjoyed helping others and teaching his children and grandchildren as well. He loved his family and he will be greatly missed.   

Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Yow Badgett, and his brother James Ralph Badgett.

He is survived by his children Karen Bowman (Terry) and Joan Robbins (John), six grandchildren, Neal Bowman (Laura), Mark Bowman (Brittany), Lori Wheeler (Brian), Peter Robbins, David Robbins, Patrick Robbins, seven great grandchildren, and his sisters Dot Boaz and Rachel Lawrence.

Family will greet friends in the Welcome center starting at 1:00 pm at Grace Chapel Church on  Saturday (2/17/24).
