James Elbert "Jimmy" Danford

James Elbert Danford, 76 of Sanford passed away Tuesday November 19, 2019. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday December 7, 2019 at Bethel United Methodist Church in Bolivia. Burial will follow in the Mercer Family Cemetery in Bolivia, NC.

Mr. Danford was born in New Hanover Co, son of the late Royal Elbert Danford and Sarah Lenorah Thorpe Danford. He was a retired truck driver and a Veteran of the US Navy.

Mr. Danford is survived by his daughters, Donna Danford of CO, Lisa Danford of PA and Jamie Cerda of TX; stepchildren, Eric Carnes (Lupe) of CA, Mark Danford of TN, Tracy Danford of TN; sisters, Sarah Knox (Warren) of Bolivia, NC and Sue D. Corbitt (Russell) of Sanford;13 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his son James L. “Bo” Danford of TX and his stepson Scott Carnes of FL.
