James "Jim" Wicker King Jr.

James “Jim” Wicker King Jr., 69, of Sanford passed away Wednesday November 24, 2021, after a tough battle with Alzheimer’s. A memorial service will be held at 7:30 pm Thursday December 30th at Rogers Pickard Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 6:00 until 7:30 Thursday prior to the Memorial service

Mr. King was born in Lee Co. to the late James Wicker King and Catherine Swan King. He loved unique cars, the outdoors, antiques, and animals. In his time, he helped sponsor many youths in the AA program. As a Christian, Mr. King took comfort in the Lord after his diagnosis.

Mr. King is survived by his sons James “Jake” Wicker King III (Elizabeth) and Ryan Dexter King (Mariah); grandchildren Caden Patrick King, Darcy Jayne King, Julian James King, Merritt Catherine King, and Micah Velez; sisters Susan Swan King and Carolyn King Washburn; stepdaughters Jamie Zoller and Dawn Stutts; Judith Womack Gray; and his beloved dog Sweet Pea.
