Jerry Carlton Layne

Jerry Carlton Layne, 76 of Sanford passed away Saturday September 21, 2024. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday at White Hill Presbyterian Church cemetery.

Mr. Layne was born in Lee Co a son of the late James Oscar Layne and Vera Jane Banner Layne. He was a Veteran of the US Army and retired from the NC Dept of Transportation. Mr. Layne was preceded in death by siblings, Frances Foushee, Mozelle Coggins, Lucy Finley, Peggy McGee, Johnny Layne, Billy Layne, and James Layne. Jerry loved his cats, muscle cars and was an avid NC State fan. 

Mr. Layne is survived by his daughter, Kelly Layne Montgomery (David); granddaughters, Kelsey, Jennifer, Caroline, and Rachel; great grandchildren, Courtland and Kaylan; sister, Ruth Conder.
