Joan Sensenig Toman

Joan Sensenig Toman, 71, of Sanford, NC, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022.

Joan was born in Reading, PA, daughter of the late Christian Charles Sensenig and Catherine Rose O’Neill. She received her Master’s degree from SUNY Binghamton and dedicated her career to the education of exceptional children. She found joy in ocean sunrises, bird watching, nature photography, and especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vladimir Allen “Al” Toman.

She is survived by her daughters, Rachelle Toman (Kirsten Barrett) of Hyattsville, MD and Carolyn Toman (Kevin Davis) of Hope Mills, NC; grandchildren, Ellary and Auden Barrett Toman; sisters, Anna Davis of Sanford, NC and Catherine Price of Youngsville, NC; brother Charles Sensenig (Teresa) of Michigan; and many extended family members, friends, and former students.
