Judith Raymond Mann, 82, of Sanford passed away on Wednesday (4/24/24). A visitation will be held on Saturday (5/18/24) at Rogers Pickard Funeral Home from 2-3pm. A memorial service will follow beginning at 3pm.
Judy was born in Jonesboro (Lee Co.) to the late Raymond Harvey Mann Jr. and Annie Lois Thomas. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Wilton Gaines Oldham, sister-in-law, Gaye Mann and brother-in-law, Wayne Joyner. Ms. Mann was a graduate of Campbell College and spent most of her life in Sanford.
She spent many years as a homemaker to her young children before going to work as a property manager in various locations across NC. Ms. Mann grew up, got married, and spent many years attending Jonesboro United Methodist Church. She loved her family and enjoyed visiting her children, brothers and especially her precious grandchildren. She adored her grandchildren and visited and spent time with them, following them on social media, and chatting with them on calls and texts. Judy enjoyed family summer trips to the mountains and beaches and camping trips. She loved riding along the Blue Ridge Parkway looking for deer, elk, and other wildlife. She spent hours walking the beaches searching for shells. Judy had many interests and was an avid reader. She enjoyed puzzles, gardening, bird-watching in her yard and travelling and loved watching and cheering for her Wolfpack teams, Panthers and the Braves.
Judy was a devoted caregiver for her parents as their health declined. She always put others before herself and was a loving and caring sister, mother and grandmother. Ms. Mann lived her life embodying the importance of family and taking care of each other.
She is survived by her children Christopher Thomas Oldham (Jennifer) of Charlotte, Chrystal Anne Oldham of Sanford, and Raymond Barry Oldham (Bruce S. Hill) of Washington DC; grandchildren Alexandra C. Oldham, Morgan E. Oldham, Sydney A. Oldham and Sheridan N. Oldham; and brothers Milton Thomas Mann, Robert Wayne Mann, and William Patrick Mann (Holly).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Liberty HomeCare and Hospice Services, 1005 Carthage Street, Sanford, NC 27330.
