Kathleen Deaton

Kathleen Edwards Deaton, 97, of Robbins, NC passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023. Funeral services will be held at Cameron United Methodist Church on Saturday December 30, 2023, at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in the Cameron Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Deaton was born in Lee County, NC to the late Eugene Edwards and Ola Flynn Edwards. She graduated Cameron High School in 1943 and then attended King’s Business College in Raleigh, NC. She worked at the U.S. Dept. of Labor in Washington, DC until near the end of WWII. She retired from Carthage Production Credit Association after 20 years of work. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her spouses Oliver L. Marsh and Meriel C. Deaton; son John E. Marsh; and siblings Grier Edwards and Elizabeth Edwards Brown.

Mrs. Deaton is survived by her children Lee Marsh of Cameron, NC; Judith Johnson of Sanford, NC; and Richard Marsh of Robbins, NC; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and brother Joseph F. Edwards; and special friend Earl Black.

The family will receive friends at 1pm prior to the service at Cameron United Methodist Church.
