Lisa Lynn McBryde, 58, of Sanford, North Carolina, passed away peacefully March 10, 2018 after a courageous battle with leukemia.
She was born July 21, 1959. Lisa was a lifelong resident of Sanford and graduated from Meredith College. She owned and operated ABC Daycare for 27 years, touching many families through this work. After retirement, she served in the care of others.
Lisa had served on the Salvation Army Board and the City of Sanford Alcoholic Control Board. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Lynn McBryde and LuAnne Thomas McBryde and a brother, Thomas Drew McBryde.
Lisa is survived by Aytul Ozkan, an “adopted” sister who was an exchange student from Turkey, godchildren Cameron Dykes, Alicia and Johnna Hickman, numerous cousins, and a host of special friends who formed “Lisa’s Lickin’ (as in Kickin’) Leukemia League” to support her during her battle with cancer.
Lisa will be remembered for her brilliant smile, larger than life personality, her love of the beach, and the joy of being with friends. A worship service in celebration of her life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Sanford on Sunday, March 18 at 3:00 P.M.
