Lofton Montague Milstead

Lofton Montague Milstead, 93, of Sanford passed away on Monday September 20, 2021. Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 25, 2021 at 11am at Rogers Pickard Funeral Home. A private burial will follow.

Mr. Milstead was born in Lynchburg VA to the late Lofton Montague Milstead Sr and Bessie Stephens. He joined the army at 17 and through that he was able to travel. After his enlistment he went on to become an architectural engineer. He started his architecture firm called Zando, Martin and Milstead with his partners the late Ray Zando and Kenneth Martin which has been in business for over 65 years. He was also in the national honor society Tau Beta Pi for Architecture. He was president of the Lions Club in VA for 2 years and a member for 45 years. He was also predeceased by his son-in-law Dave Thomas.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years Ann Louise Milstead; daughters Pamela Milstead and husband Doug Peters of Fl and Cathy Lynn Thomas of Ohio; nephew Kirk Thomas; and niece Margaret “Peggy” Thomas.
