Lucretia Childers Flynn

Lucretia Rose Childers Flynn, 73 formally from Sanford passed away Friday November 26, 2021. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Thursday December 2 ,2021 at Rogers Pickard Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Barbecue Presbyterian Church cemetery.

Lucretia was born in Wake County, NC on July 31, 1948, to the late Robert Louis Childers and Pauline Johnson Childers. She is also preceded in death by her brother Thomas Johnson and sister Glenda Flynn.

One of Lucretia's favorite things to do was going camping with her family and her longtime friends. She loved to garden and had a green thumb. She inspired everyone to be a better person from caring for everyone to forgiving everyone. Anyone that knows Lucretia knows she was a hugger and a kisser. Whether you've known her 50 years or just a couple minutes you were getting the tightest hug and biggest kiss. She could make anyone feel loved and welcomed. She made everyone around her family and only answered to Nana or Mama. Lucretia always had love for her dogs. Lucretia was known for her famous banana pudding and there wasn't a cookout or holiday without it.

Lucretia loved and cherished her husband Tommy more than life itself. They have been married for 57 years. There love is unconditional and inspiring to all.

Lucretia is survived by her husband Hughey Thomas Flynn Sr.; son Hugh Thomas Flynn Jr. and daughters Tammy Musselwhite (Billy), Chrissy Flynn (Ronnie Love) all of VA. Grandchildren Brittany, Angel, Kimberly, Kyler, Kayla, Kirstin, Kortney and Samm; great grandchildren Georgia, Rylan, Jameson, Kyla, McKinley, Jase, June and Dallas, many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00 to 1:30 prior to the service at Rogers Pickard Funeral Home.
