Marian Carlsen

Marian Allen Carlsen, 92 of Sanford peacefully passed away Wednesday July 20, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday at Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church. Burial will be held at 10:00am Monday at Sandhill’s State Veterans Cemetery.

Mrs. Carlsen was born in New Orleans daughter of the late Albert Allen and Leah Bordelon. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Robert Carlsen. She was active at the Enrichment Center and participated with the “Nifty Noggins”. She was active with the Prayer Shaw Group at St Stephen Catholic Church, formerly active with the Sanford Orchestra, and was a member of, and participated pageants with,  with at Jonesboro Baptist Church.

Mrs. Carlsen is survived by her children, Faye Elizabeth Barbetta of Pearl River, LA, Lynn Victoria Rex of Sanford, and Robert Allen Carlsen of Brooklyn, NY; five grandchildren, Tammy Johnson, William Barbetta, Clinton Davis, Charles Rex, and Benjamin William Carlsen; eight great grandchildren, Max Barbetta, Judah Barbetta, Bella Barbetta, Sinjin Barbetta, Ashley Haik, Sean Johnson, Alex Johnson, and Savannah Rex; one great great grandchild, Logan Johnson; sister in law, Jeanne Richards of NJ.      

The family will receive friends starting at 10:00am Saturday at Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church.
