Marion Gladys Campbell Holt, 89 of Murrells Inlet, SC, formerly of Sanford, passed away peacefully Sunday June 24, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday atFirst Baptist Church Chapel. Burial will follow at Poplar Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Holt was born and raised in the Sanford area and a daughter of the late James Brown Campbell and Clara Gladys Phillips Campbell. She was preceded in death by her husband Max G. Holt and two infant children, Perry Lynn Holt and Belinda Marie Holt.
Marion and Max met in Sanford on a blind date and celebrated 64 years of marriage together. God took Marion home to celebrate her and Max’s 69th year of marriage on June 25, 2018.
Marion was a Sunday School teacher and a member at Calvary Baptist Church in Winston Salem, NC for many years. After retiring from Sears in NC, Marion and Max returned to Sanford and joined First Baptist church, where they became active in the Church family and community.
Marion’s love and devotion for her husband, children and God blessed her with an ever-growing family raised in God’s loving embrace.

Marion is survived by her two daughters, Phyllis Taylor (Monty) of Murrells inlet, SC, and Sheila Derham (Jimmy) of Christiansburg, VA; four grandchildren, Ashley Taylor Railsback (Garrett), Graham Taylor, Winston Derham, and Justin Derham; two great grandchildren, Taylor Marie Railsback and Dean Howard Railsback; one sister, Jenny Holder (Gilbert) of Sanford.
The family will greet friends beginning at 10:00am Thursday inn the Parlor at First Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
