Marilyn “Sue” Comstock passed away Wednesday, May 18, at UNC Hospital. Her faith was her guide throughout her 84 years.
Born in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of Stewart and Isabel Aiken, Sue was preceded in death by her parents and her son Scott.
She is survived by her daughter Leslie Comstock Day (husband John) in Texas, grandson Scott Day (wife Ashley) and great grandson Timothy (TC) in Texas, her brother Larry Aiken (wife Grace) in Sanford, and brother Don Aiken (wife Mary Jo) in Buffalo, and several nieces and nephews who absolutely adored her.
Sue graduated from Kenmore High School near Buffalo, and St. Lawrence University. She maintained life-long friends from school and enjoyed class reunions to laugh and reminisce. She loved her many close friends and was she greatly loved in return. She was a second “Mom” to so many in Buffalo, Texas, Wyoming, and Lee County NC. Sue literally lit-up any room she entered. Surely, she did the same in heaven as God and her family, especially son Scott, greeted her home.
Her mission in life was to help as many people as possible, at Saint Francis Church, Central Carolina Hospital Pharmacy, CUOC, Breadbasket, Mallard Cove POA , and more, and always did it with a caring smile to brighten everyone’s day. Sue was always colorful, and even bought a bright yellow stick-shift VW Beetle to match her outfits. Everyone knew when “Tootles” was on the road.
Her Celebration of Life Service will be held at Saint Francis Anglican Church on Thursday, May 26, at 11:00 am followed by a reception to share how much Sue meant to all. Her service will also be available on-line and will be recorded, Link is- https://www.sfapnc.org/services
