Michael Mardis

Michael Mardis, 57 of Sanford passed away Tuesday June 7, 2022. A Memorial visitation will be held Friday from 2:00 until 4:00pm at Rogers Pickard Funeral Home.

Mr. Mardis was born in Lee Co, son of Mary Blanch Maddox Mardis and the late Gilbert Marion Mardis. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Ernestine Maddox; aunt Brenda Maddox; and Uncle Guy Maddox.  Mikey worked at Lee County Industries for many years and never met a stranger. He was an active participant in the Special Olympics for years. He was a member of the Nightingale Choir through which he got to visit the White House to sing for the president. He loved the Power Rangers, Ninja Turtles, Pringles, and Pepsi.

Michael is survived by sister, Kathy Hearn (Mark) of Moncure; Mother Mary Blanch Maddox; nieces Tiffany Carpenter (Brandon Edwards) and Kristy Stephens (Joey); 7 great nieces and nephews; and best friend and buddy Jeremy Baldwin from Lee Co. Group Home.

The family will be gathering at the residence of Kathy Hearn.
