Ralph Herbert Fields

Ralph Herbert Fields, 88 of Winston-Salem, formerly of Sanford passed away Thursday November 1, 2018 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House.

A memorial service will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, November 17 at First Baptist Church, Sanford.

Mr. Fields, a life-long resident of Sanford until this past July, was a son of the late Graham Salmon Fields and Beulah McDonald Fields. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Sanford, where he served as a deacon and more recently, chief assistant to the church hostess. Mr. Fields retired from the US Postal Service as a dependable rural letter carrier. He was also a former member of the Sanford Lions Club.

 He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William Warren Fields.

Mr. Fields is survived by his wife of 60 years, Clara Lee Hare Fields; daughters, Elizabeth Rose "Beth" Fields of Winston-Salem and Suzanne F. Jones and husband Chuck of Burns, TN; and a sister, Mary Fields Johnson of Greensboro.
