Robert O'Briant Stone

Robert O’Briant Stone, 83 of Sanford passed away Friday October 27, 2017. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00am Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the Church Columbarium.

Mr. Stone was born in Sanford, NC, son of the late William Warren Stone and Leona Holt Stone. He is preceded in death by a grandson Christopher Lattanzio; brothers William Monroe, Garland Lewis, Albert Archie, and Raymond Lee Stone; sisters Mary Frances Brown, Peggy Joyce Stone and Margie Ann Stone. Mr. Stone was an Army Veteran and a retired sports writer with the Sanford Herald.

Mr. Stone is survived by his wife Mary Ruth Allen Stone; daughter Kelli Stone Beckham (Walter) of Raleigh, Stephanie Robin Wilson (Robert) of Sanford, son Greg Joseph Stone of Sanford; step children, Rita Lattanzio of East Palistine, Ohio, Ralph Lattanzio (Terri), Audrey Macklin (Troy), Veronica Hughs (Wayne) of East Palistine, Ohio; Albert Lattanzio (Rhonda) of Columbia Ohio, Juan Vayas, exchange brother of Miami Florida; 26 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will greet friends follow the memorial service in the Church Fellowship Hall.
