Ronald Maxwell Huber, 81, of Sanford, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2024. A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 21, 2024, at 2pm at First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall starting at 1pm prior to the service.
Ron was born in Battle Creek, Michigan, to the late Max Huber and Erma McGoldrich Huber.
He was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church in Sanford, and shared his faith in Jesus Christ in the community both vocally and through servant leadership. He loved volunteering and spending time with the Love Class, Sonshine Gang, and at Happiness Retreat. He was an active member of the Gideons, a former church deacon, and a faithful volunteer for Upward Basketball.
Ron retired from Eaton after 35 years of service. He was active in the Boy Scouts for many years, earning the highest honor of Vigil Member of the Order of the Arrow and the Silver Beaver Award. He was instrumental in the founding of the Stevens Center and received the Governor’s Volunteer Award.
He is survived by his wife Carol Huber; son Dr. Scot Huber (Joan); daughters Anne-Marie Huber and Amy E. Ziebart (Jason); and grandsons Noah, Gabe, and Oliver.
Ron especially loved being “Papa Bear” to his grandsons, sharing his wisdom and spirit of servanthood with them.
