Ronny Lee McDowell

Ronny Lee McDowell, 69 of South Boston, VA, formerly of Roxboro and Sanford, passed away Nov 18, 2024 due to complications from surgery. He is survived by his daughter, Melissa McDowell of the home, and a sister, Sarah McDowell Smith of Roxboro.

He was a retired carpet and flooring installer, an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed trips to the beach, fishing, hunting, gardening, and tinkering in his workshop. He was a handyman who his family called on often. Ronny had a kind spirit and never met a stranger.

Ronny was born in Lee Co, son of the late Annie Lee Everett McDowell and Archie Boyd McDowell. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Betty Lou Donithan McDowell and a son, Ronny McDowell Jr.

Ronny will be laid to rest at Lemon Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery alongside his wife and son. Per Ronny’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service.
