Steven Oscar Lloyd, 66, of Sanford, North Carolina, passed away on March 26th after a stroke and complications that followed.
A memorial graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, April 11, 2021at Center United Methodist Church Cemetery in Sanford. The COVID-19 protocol is in effect for those who are not comfortable,
wear a mask and practice social distancing.
Steve, also called Oscar by his friends and family was born on March 1st, 1955 to Phillip and Eunice Lloyd in Sanford, North Carolina. He graduated from Greenwood High School and shortly after graduation began working at Advanced Auto followed by Siemens, Schleicher, and Weyerhaeuser among several other jobs in the industrial work field. Oscar enjoyed helping others in times of need. He spent his free time at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (V.F.W) and appreciated those who served, often celebrating and remembering them by placing flags at cemeteries for those who sacrificed their life. Furthermore, he loved the beach, Duke University basketball, and racing. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Johnny Lloyd.
He is survived by his daughter, Heather Leigh Koran, son-in-law Chris Koran; grandson Luke Koran all of Pleasant Garden; brothers, Larry Lloyd and wife Joyce, Donald Lloyd and wife Debbie all of Sanford and Vernon Lloyd and wife Susan of Lexington, NC; sister-in-law, Brenda Lloyd of Sanford; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family members.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
