He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Bridges McNeill and his 9 siblings. He leaves behind his special friend Mae Rosser, son John Thomas McNeill and wife Donna, daughter Joyce M. Carlough and husband Don, grandsons Jonathan McNeill and fiancé Ryan Wilkie, Matthew Carlough and wife Katie, Rodney Gaines and wife Amanda, granddaughter Amanda G. Tom was known for his generosity to his family, friends and Church. He cooked many a breakfast for Pocket Church and the Berean Sunday School class. Keeping his yard trimmed and neat was a task he enjoyed. He has his own vineyard that he tended and used those grapes to make wine that he gave to all his friends. Those friends included his “gang” at McDonalds where they met every morning and had coffee, breakfast and lots of conversation. Tom was very active with Woodmen of the World. Playing cards with his friends was probably his favorite past time, losing not so much though.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pocket Presbyterian Church, 669 Pocket Church Rd, Sanford, NC 27330.
