Virginia Medlin Brown, 83 of Sanford went home to be with her Savior, Friday April 21, 2017.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Brown was born in Lee Co, a daughter of the late James Ander Medlin and Lila Stewart Medlin. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ferrell Brown; sisters, Georgia, Leila, Betty, Irene and Verlie; brothers, Wilbur, Jroud, Jerome, Johnny, and Staley. She also was preceded in death by a grandchild and a great grandchild. Mrs. Brown graduated from Sanford High School winner of the High School Spelling Bee and candidate in the Lee County Spelling Bee, and beauty contestant for her school. She was a member of Central Baptist Temple and former teacher of the Sr. Ladies Sunday school class.
Virginia loved the Lord and was a student of the scriptures. Her life’s passions were her children, and she enjoyed just being at home. She was generous to people and offered an open door to many in need. She was an undiscovered artist, created beautiful heartfelt poetry, songs, and drawings.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her son, Kelly Ferrell Brown of Sanford; daughters, Cheryl Anne Brown of Sanford, June Ellen Brown of Pittsboro, and Sharon Brown Stanley, and husband Van of Sanford; nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; a sister, Marie Odom of Sanford; step sister, Kathleen Wall of VA and a step brother, Braxton Graham of VA.
