Virginia Coore

October 6, 1934 — August 11, 2018

Virginia Pettit “Polly” Coore, 83 of Siler City, passed away Saturday August 11, 2018 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday at Mt. Vernon Springs Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Coore was born in Surry Co, a daughter of the late Hubert and Mary Lane Pettit. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Coore, sons, Larry Michael Coore and William Henry Coore Jr, and a grandson, Matthew Coore. She was a member of Mt Vernon Springs Presbyterian Church and sang in the Church Choir. Mrs. Coore retired from Collins & Aikman shipping and receiving dept after many years of service.

 

Mrs. Coore is survived by her children, Sandra Craig (Joe) of Siler City, Jeff Coore (Penny) of New London, Jimmy Coore (Toni) of Siler City and Diane Lingenfelter (Larry) of Siler City; a brother, Raymond Pettit (Cameron) of Siler City; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
