Virginia Szwed

Virginia (Nan) Huggins Szwed, 85, passed away on June 5th, 2020 in her home of 41 years in Quail Ridge Golf Course Community in Lee County, NC.  She was the wife of her loving husband, Val Szwed for 23 years, who was with her when she passed. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday July 18th, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church.

She was the last born of nine children of the late Lonnie and Lattice Huggins in Charlotte, NC, on March 18, 1935.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sanford.  She loved her family, the game of golf; gardening in her beautiful yard, bird watching, sewing and baking.

Nan is survived by her husband Val of the home and her brother Jimmie Huggins, of Belhaven, NC.  In addition to her parents, Nan was preceded in death by her five sisters Dorothy Blanton, Joyce Ward, Carnelle Greene, Zera Goodson, Mary Lee Helms and two of her three brothers Jack and Richard Huggins.

The family wishes to thank Dennis and Melissa Wisneski for their love, friendship and compassionate care.

Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 525 Carthage Street, Sanford, NC.
