Wade Allen Marion

Wade A. Marion, 76 of Cameron passed away Friday February 26, 2016. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Sanford.

Mr. Marion was born in Moore Co, and graduated from Vass Lakeview High School. Wade was a sports enthusiast, an avid golfer and had a passion for baseball. He loved the outdoors, and had a passion for carpentry. He was a member of First Baptist Church, the Cornerstone Sunday school class and was the “loveable” greeter and probable best remembered for his hugs. He never met a stranger and loved his friends and family.

Mr. Marion is survived by his wife Patsy Thomas Marion; mother, Vera Wood Marion of Southern Pines; sons, David Yarborough, Allen Marion, Danny Marion(Debbie), Tim Marion (Santa) all of Broadway, Connie Marion (Lisa) of Lillington, Garrett Arnold (Lee) of Sanford; daughter, Michelle Brown (Darren) of Sanford; grandchildren, Jessica, Trey, Kyle, Danneille, Blake, Kenan, Joshua, Isiah, Grant, Chase, Nolan, Lyndsay, Sydney, Tomi Lee, Tammy, Dustin, and Eva; siblings, Harold (Bonnie) Marion of Carthage, Wanda (Lewis) Ring of Lakeview, and David (Teresa) Marion of West End; Mother  in Law, Esteen Thomas of Sanford. Some of his extended family includes, Billy (Dee) Hughes and children, Sheryl Fogleman (Reggie) Kelly and children, Roger (Rhonda) Fogleman and children, Audrey (Bill) Hudson and children, the late Bill Fogleman and his wife Mary Fogleman and Children, Timmy (Abby) Elderman, Robbie (Abby) Martin, Deborah Maria (Delaney & Tucker), Rick Elderman (Maureen Krueger), and the Dirt Devils Baseball family. Mr. Marion was preceded in death by his father, Paul Marion, brother, Roger Marion and his father in law, Ernest Lee Thomas.   

The family will receive friends starting at 1:00pm Wednesday in the fellowship hall at First Baptist Church, and other times at 2601 Wellington Dr., Sanford.
