Wanaga Landreth Marshburn, 94 of Sanford peacefully passed away Sunday February 4, 2018 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday at Carbonton United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Marshburn was born in Moore Co, a daughter of the late Elmer Marion Landreth and Flossie Eaton Landreth. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W Marshburn Sr, two grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was a member of the Carbonton United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the Choir for many years. Together with her husband John, they operated a General Store in Carbonton for many years. Mrs. Marshburn loved quilting and sewing and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Marshburn is survived by sons, John W. Marshburn Jr (Brenda), Lewis A Mashburn (Linda), and Barry N. Marshburn (Jennifer); daughter, Janice M. Brady (Marcus); 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews including a son at heart, James “Ricky” Hill.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00pm Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to Carbonton United Methodist Church, 5442 Goldston Carbonton Rd, Goldston, NC 27252; or to Liberty Hospice, PO Box 66, Sanford, NC 27331.
